The Hair Transplant Process
The hair restoration process is the first two layers of the skin contain the hair follicles (roots). Every single hair foillicle on the human head is genetically programmed either to become sensitive to the male hormone, causing it to die after a time, or to become permanently immune to the withering effects of the male hormone and last for a life time.
These life time hairs are found in high density in nearly all men, even those who are severely bald. They are located in a horseshoe shaped region at the back of the head called the "donor area".
The principle procedure of transplanting hair is to "harvest" the permanent hairs from the donor area and relocate them to the thinning or bald areas elsewhere on the scalp or hairline.
The removal and tranplanting of hair is straightforward minor surgical procedure carried out under local anaesthetic. It only takes a few hours but the complex part of a hair transplant is the artistry required by the specailaist surgeon.
Great skill is required to design and create a natural looking hairline zone that is correct for the shape of your face and your age, now and in the future. The surgeon will take into consideration both the corect texture of hair taken from the donor area and the density of grafts including graft size to maximise fullness and density.
The final stage of the hair transplant is the placing of the individual grafts in the corect pattern. Our surgeon ensures that scrupulously planned, methodically placed tiny follicular micrografts (often single hairs), grow together to recreate nature's original composition.
